American sunset NEXT + meet SZUGA
April 25, 2025AMERICAN SUNSET
Great news! Today I received the full set of images for our upcoming expansion featuring Dominique and Coco — and I’ve already upscaled everything to 4K resolution. The results? Absolutely stunning. 🌟
Right now, I’m waiting on the final texts. Once I have everything in place, I’ll begin integrating the new content into the game.
In the meantime, I’m also giving the entire game a visual upgrade. All animations and graphics are being rebuilt in 4K, which is quite a bit of work due to the sheer volume of content. I'm also refining the interface, adjusting element placement, optimizing preloading for the web version, and adding some extra visual effects to give everything that extra polish.
I'm aiming to release the expansion in June, and I’m fully committed to hitting that target.
Let us know what you think of the new artwork in the comments — we’d love to hear your thoughts!
Different kind of art: Meet Szuga, our background artist by day and DJ by night
Here at Lesson of Passion, we’re proud to work with a team of incredibly talented individuals, and sometimes, their creativity doesn’t stop at game development. One of our longtime collaborators, Szuga, known for crafting the breathtaking backgrounds and visual atmospheres you see in our games, has a secret passion that may surprise you: music production.
When he’s not designing intricate worlds or fine-tuning textures and lighting for our visual scenes, Szuga transforms into a DJ and electronic music producer. Over the years, he’s been quietly building a discography of immersive, mood-driven tracks — and publishing them across platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
But don’t mistake this for a bid for fame. For Szuga, music is about authentic expression, not commercial appeal. His work is shaped by a deep love for instrumental electronic music, with clear influences drawn from the raw energy of German underground clubs, BBC’s Essential Mix series, and the atmospheric depth of late-night audio storytelling.
He’s released several themed series, including:
HOUSEXY – smooth, groove-forward house sets perfect for unwinding or background energy.
UNDER THE BRIDGE – darker, more experimental moods with an urban edge.
MIDNIGHT JUNGLE – lush, rhythm-driven soundscapes with a wild, untamed energy.
Each project carries a unique identity, yet all of them are bound by the same core idea: to create music he would want to listen to himself. No trends, no compromises — just a love for sound, texture, and tone, echoing the same artistic integrity he brings to his visual work.
Whether you’re a fan of our games, a lover of underground music, or just curious to discover a new hidden gem — we highly recommend checking out Szuga’s work.

Coco looks great and I can’t wait to explore Dominique’s content.
And shout outs indeed to Szuga! The backgrounds have been fire for quite a while and always happy to see the people that make the LoP games possible get a little spotlight of their own.
