LWT2: French confessions

LWT2: REVELATIONS was published in 2019, and the expanded version of LWT2 received plenty of great reviews. I know you love that title. The game was released in UNITY with poorly upscaled images (in comparison to the technology we have today), and today, it doesn’t look attractive. I saw comments that people would like to see LWT2 on STEAM, but we’re unable to release this build there because of technical problems and quality issues.  

Once, we planned a complete remake of LWT2, but I decided to cancel that idea – it would take us a year or two to render everything, and I believe we can spend this time preparing something new.  

We’ve asked you a question: “Would you like to see REFRESHED version of LWT2?” and 81% said YES!

So, the development has already begun, and I’ve already started to code the demo, which will offer access to the first 4 days of the game. This demo will not only use the already known content but will also incorporate new scenes we’re planning to prepare for the FRENCH CONFESSIONS versions of the game. So, it will make it attractive not only to new players but also to people who already played LWT2.   

I also want to mention that it’s great to get back to this project. I love the visuals, atmosphere, and everything else oriented around it. While coding it in RENPY, I’m still impressed by how complex the relations between characters and events are, with plenty of hidden variables and conditions. IKSANABOT did a really marvelous job designing the game that way. Thanks to the ROLLBACK option, when you can push time backward and test the outcome of another available choice, and our new HINT system, you’ll be able to discover all the secrets that were almost impossible to find out with the original game.

Right now, together with IKSANABOT, we’re preparing the list of new events we plan to add to the game, and I’m proud that we’ve come up with some great ideas that you’re going to love.

What FRENCH CONFESSIONS version would mean?

  • same assets we got for the original game but upscaled to 2k resolution (samples below)
  • same animations, also upscaled, with added extra frames and camera movement, adding some more life to the presentation
  • adding more small, daily scenes, providing more variety to the week’s schedule and new events (all new content will be natively rendered in 2k with 20 frame animations)
  • some minor gameplay fixes
  • everything coded in RENPY, which would mean plenty of save slots, options to roll back the time, a better image gallery, stability and more

RELEASE DATE

We plan to publish the game by the end of 2025.

At first, we’ll release it for our lopgold.com subscribers and then on STEAM and ITCH.IO.
