New type of animations + CVR:MB update

As we mentioned before, we are experimenting with new types of animations.
With the Web of Shadows expansion to Horos, we plan to introduce 40-frame animations – longer than usual, with two independent types of movement. Thanks to that improvement, animations will look more natural without the effect of repeating the same action over and over again.
To provide even more versatility, we’re postprocessing those animations in After Effect, providing subtle modifications in terms of the speed and direction of the animations. Thanks to the AI upscaling, we can also present the animation from 2 perspectives: broader and closer, without losing quality.
What’s more, we’ve started to use dynamic body movement – hair, muscles, buttocks, boobs, genitalia and more. The body’s reaction is much more significant and natural. Those are our first animations using those methods, and we plan to improve/master them in the future.
The final modification to our already established method is to present those animations as video files, not a series of static images. It helps to save space on hard drives and significantly reduces the time needed to download the animation from game servers (and browser memory consumption), which is crucial for web-based games.
The plan is to improve and implement this method in every new project.
CLUB VELVET ROSE DEVELOPMENT
That was a very productive week. I’ve implemented the complete version of the QUEST TRACKER and tested the game with probably every possible output and situation, and it works great without any issues. What’s more, I was able to implement awesome music and SFX. For the first time, every girl has her own signature moaning sounds for the sex scene – you’ll be able to recognize which girl it is only by listening to their moans 🙂 Sex scenes and an ending gallery were luckily included as well.
I’m still missing some renders of the new interactions that must be built and tested. I hope to receive them at the beginning of the following week. Also, text formatting and text verification, plus the implementation of preloading rules, is still on the list of things to do.
If everything goes as planned, the release could occur on the 1st of December.

That’s a superb upgrade in quality of animations. Is it possible to have similar improvements implemented in CVR?
CVR also benefits from a new approach, but in this project, we have something different – we produced every animation from 2 different angles and presented it with the support of After Effect postprocessing, AI upscaling and video file format. I’ll try present some samples in 5 minutes.
We started to experiment with 40-frame animations, with two independent types of movement, after we’ve rendered all animations to CVR so we won’t have this feature in CVR but I’m considering to add render all animations with that method to VOLUME 2, which will be an update to the base version of the game.
The next-to-last animation could benefit from un-synched movement of the woman on the right from the couple on the left. It looks like her movements depend on the movement of the couple and it’s very obvious that her animation cycle is played forward, and then backward. Maybe there’s a way to make a layered animation, with the couple having their own animation cycle, and the woman would have her cycle playing forward on repeat instead, and maybe with slowed-down body movement so that her body and head movement feels more subtle. What would really make the animation amazing is the fixed speed for eyes blinking, separate from the body and facial movements (unless the facial movements require the eyes to be open / closed)
And the animation with the redhead looks like her boobs are being manhandled by the ghost when it plays backwards. If the animation is slow, her boobs shouldn’t really move up because there’s not enough momentum. On top of it, they’re held together by a bra, which limits the movement. Some jiggle physics are expected but the bra cups shouldn’t really move much.
I agree with BloodyMares, I think the animations are a much-needed improvement but they still need work done to them. I know rerendering animations will take a while so I don’t mind if the currently rendered animations are kept but future games need slight improvements. There’s too much unnecessary movement with the arms and head, especially when it’s someone watching. I think the less head movement and the like would actually help with the speed it takes to animate since you have fewer parts to move around. If someone is watching, I would make them blink or have a subtle head movement, nothing that becomes distracting. Having the animation be layered with the person watching and the sex scene would be great since it wouldn’t have that weird synch issue. The best animation out of the bunch is the final one on the post. The movement works well, the breast movement especially makes sense and the male’s movement isn’t too much that becomes distracting. The only issue with that one is I think the male hands should be locked onto the female’s hips and have no finger movement but even that is a nitpick. It is definitely the best. The breasts for the redhead animation that BloodyMares mentioned are very jarring since the footage is obviously reversed. The breast movements should be continuous, so if the left breast from the camera view is moving clockwise and the right is moving anti-clockwise; it should keep that direction throughout the animation. The sudden change in movement is very strange and the type of clothing should also affect how much movement there should be. Since the bra in the animation isn’t padded I think a loose movement actually makes sense for that one but it should be something to remember in the future. Hopefully, my feedback isn’t offensive since I think the improvements the team have been doing recently have been great and I do like what you are trying to do with the animation.

December having CVR2 and the New Years dress poll has me pumped. Better animations make me even more excited for Hazel’s debut! Definitely good time to be a LoP fan.
